Cleanliness drives, charity mark PM Modi’s birthday

Blood donation camps, cleanliness drives and acts of charity marked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday celebrations across the country. In Delhi, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu cut a 500 kg laddoo at an event organised by Sulabh International to mark the Prime Minister’s birthday. Addressing the event from the stage adorned by posters with the slogan, “Toilet first, temple later”, Prabhu spoke on the need for sanitation. He said Modi is the first Prime Minister who understood the value of cleanliness.

“Cleanliness is godliness. There is no need to perform god’s aarti or offer prasad. If we want to really offer something to god, we should keep our society clean,” Prabhu said. Earlier, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Sports Minister Vijay Goel flagged off a ‘Khel Vikas Daud’ in which sportspersons took part. The DelhiBJP unit also organised a blood donation camp.
